Is World Athletics same as IAAF?

World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation and International Association of Athletics Federations and formerly abbreviated as the IAAF. In June 2019 the organization chose to rebrand as World Athletics, with a rollout beginning after the 2019 World Championships in Doha. WORLD ATHLETICS CLASS I ATHLETICS FACILITY CERTIFICATE

The main standards for the certification of venue facilities are based on three documents: the IAAF certification system procedures, the competition rules and the standard manual for track and field venue facilities.
In the "World Athletics Certification System Procedures", site facility certification is divided into four categories: first-level site facility certification, second-level site facility certification, indoor site facility certification, and partial site facility certification.
Level 1 Site Facility Certification

Applicable to all competition venues (1.1~1.10) specified in the definition of "International Sports Competition" in the "Rules of Track and Field Competition", and the venue facilities specified in Article 1.1 must apply for the certification of first-level venue facilities.

The following supporting documents should be submitted to apply for IAAF Level 1 facility certification:

1. Mapping report of outdoor track and field facilities.

2. The on-site test report issued by the IAAF accredited laboratory.

3. The synthetic material surface layer of the pavement has obtained the World Athletics Federation certification, which is currently valid.
